What could be more elegant than combining high-quality art with precious champagne, prosecco, crémant or exclusive sparkling wine?

Many gallery openings offer a selection of free wines, but which drink should you choose if you are not a wine lover or if you need to be sober behind the wheel of your car later?

Art is constantly evolving and expresses something. So why not choose alcohol that also conveys a message? At a gallery opening, you'll most likely choose between red, white, or rosé wine. At more exclusive events, expensive Prosecco or Champagne is served.

Most galleries showcase contemporary art and promote emerging artists. At events featuring young artists, the rosé wine always the first thing to disappear. Younger adults tend to move away from the often elitist wine culture and choose rosé for its light, fruity, and sweet taste.

Different circumstances, different drinks

In medieval Europe, beer as an important source of food and fluids for rehydrating the human body. It was considered safer to consume than many water sources, but the main reason for its enjoyment was its alcohol content.

Brown beers are dark varieties that are less hoppy and sweeter in taste. These beers pair perfectly with handwoven tapestries and all kinds of handcrafted items in exhibitions.

In an era where luxurious hues were increasingly used, a vibrant red symbolized the vitality of art. The use of strong colors played a crucial role in depicting realistic paintings, making a robust red wine a perfect match. For example, enjoy a Petit Verdot , a full-bodied red wine from sunny southern France.

Modern art presents itself in diverse forms such as Cubism, Dada, or Pop Art. At the same time, the variety of spirits also varies greatly.

Picasso drank absinthe , but one shouldn't go mad after viewing his works. A dark liqueur with a licorice flavor, such as Ricard or Jägermeister, is said to emphasize the complexity of the paintings. Monochromatic Cubism, it is said in artistic circles, thus better highlighting its mosaic structure.

Duchamp represented the Dada movement through readymade sculptures, transforming ordinary objects into art. A bold and controversial choice to accompany this is an unusual mixed drink, such as a ginger margarita or a whisky cobbler .

Non-alcoholic drinks are trending

In recent years, a remarkable trend has emerged: per capita alcohol consumption in Germany is declining steadily. This is likely not solely due to the coronavirus pandemic, as more people are generally prioritizing their health and questioning their alcohol consumption.

The media hype surrounding this year's Dry January (see the report by zdfheute ) underscores these observations. Recently, a pub in the heart of rural Bavaria switched to serving 100% non-alcoholic beverages – including beer and other alcoholic drinks. After initial skepticism from patrons, the owners are now enjoying a very positive response and great success with their concept.

A paradigm shift can also be observed in the arts and culture scene. Increasingly, consideration is being given to people who abstain from alcohol completely but still wish to celebrate with a small glass. This is where alcohol-free alternatives come into play.

How safe is alcohol-free sparkling wine?

In today's society, where awareness of healthy living is constantly increasing, non-alcoholic beverage alternatives have found a firm place in the hearts of many people. Among these alternatives, non-alcoholic sparkling wine stands out in particular, offering an excellent way to celebrate life and festive moments without having to resort to alcohol.

This type of sparkling wine makes it possible to participate in toasts and celebrations without the potential health disadvantages or impairment caused by alcohol, which makes it particularly attractive.

But what about the safety of alcohol-free sparkling wine? This question is particularly important for those who must or want to abstain from alcohol for health reasons, as well as for people who lead a more conscious lifestyle. Alcohol-free sparkling wine is produced using special processes that remove the alcohol from the wine without losing the characteristic properties that define the drink – its aroma, taste, and effervescence.

These processes guarantee that the final product contains only minimal traces of alcohol, usually less than 0.5% by volume, making it a safe choice for most people, including pregnant women and drivers.

What is non-alcoholic sparkling wine?

Alcohol-free sparkling wine, often also called non-alcoholic sparkling wine or dealcoholized sparkling wine, is a sparkling wine whose alcohol content has been reduced to less than 0.5%. Advanced production methods make it possible to remove the alcohol while preserving the characteristic aromas and effervescence.

Alcohol-free sparkling wine therefore offers an attractive option for those who wish to abstain from alcoholic beverages for health, religious or personal reasons.

Alcohol content and calories

One of the main advantages of non-alcoholic sparkling wine is its minimal alcohol content, which allows you to enjoy it without the intoxicating effects and health risks of alcohol. Furthermore, the calorie content of non-alcoholic sparkling wine is often lower than that of alcoholic sparkling wines, averaging around 30 kcal per 100 ml, making it a more calorie-conscious choice.

Production process

Alcohol-free sparkling wine is produced using methods such as vacuum distillation or reverse osmosis, which allow for the careful removal of alcohol without compromising the quality and flavor profile of the wine. These technological processes ensure that alcohol-free sparkling wine is safe to consume, as the original wine is dealcoholized under strict quality controls.

Allergens and ingredients

As with any food or beverage, it's important to check the ingredient list of non-alcoholic sparkling wine to ensure it doesn't contain any allergens. However, most non-alcoholic sparkling wines are free of allergens that can be found in traditional wines, thus offering a safe option for allergy sufferers.

Advantages of non-alcoholic sparkling wine

Alcohol-free sparkling wine not only offers a safe and health-conscious alternative to alcoholic beverages, but also enables an inclusive celebration. Pregnant women, designated drivers, and people who, for various reasons, prefer not to consume alcohol can participate without hesitation.

Furthermore, the selection of non-alcoholic sparkling wines grown in recent years, so that lovers of the best non-alcoholic sparkling wine have a wide variety of options to choose from.

Non-alcoholic sparkling wine is a good alternative to the classic drink
