TILES-ART – Wonderful glass mosaics and colored tiles as a means of communication
TILES-ART , a successful symbiosis of art and commerce ! Sven Lehmann, a tile setter with a difference, uses the ancient art of mosaics to develop innovative advertising displays. Luminous tile patterns and a distinctive design are his trademark.
Sven Lehmann has received numerous awards for founding his company, including the German Founders' Prize and the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Founders' Champion award. With his business idea, he brought a millennia-old technology into the 21st century. For us at Kunstplaza that's reason enough to dedicate an article to him.
The company
Founded in Greifswald in 2003, the company focuses on creativity combined with modern tile design. Sven Lehmann's career began like a typical apprenticeship: a completed apprenticeship, several years of work experience, a master craftsman's examination, and then founding his own company. However, his company is exceptional. Its services range from residential design and corporate and product presentations to the design of leisure facilities, underground parking garages, trade fair booths, and conference rooms.
The design
Sven Lehmann's tile designs are colorful and unique. Alongside abstract patterns , flowers, nature motifs, and artistically designed lettering, there are photorealistic, three-dimensional, and sometimes very representational depictions – a method whose development Tiles Art to its peak in recent years.
Mosaic art of the highest quality! The main component of the tile pattern is the client's corporate philosophy; company logos and names are integrated into the tile design in a variety of ways. Glass mosaics and colored tiles thus serve as advertising media and are eye-catching features that transcend the everyday.
To commission Sven Lehmann to design rooms, facades, floors, and other areas in need of beautification, one should be open-minded, receptive to new ideas, and curious about shapes, colors, and patterns. In the hands of the Tiles-Art team, tiles become more than just a simple material. They are transformed into every imaginable form in our world.
More focus on private customers
After initially focusing exclusively on corporate clients, Lehmann Tiles Art now also caters to private customers. Their product range includes colored tiles, stencils and templates for personal artistic endeavors, house numbers, nameplates, and pre-made mosaic pictures up to 60 x 60 cm in size. Alternatively, for an original gift idea, you can have photographs of your partner and children transformed into mosaics.
For Sven Lehmann, focusing on private clients offers two main advantages: firstly, it provides an opportunity to increase revenue, and secondly, it allows him to better express his artistic side. With commercial commissions, Lehmann explains, the execution is always heavily influenced by the company philosophy that the artwork is meant to convey. This means he is bound by strict guidelines.
For private clients, however, consultation is an essential part of the project. Often, they don't yet have any concrete ideas. There are virtually no limits to creativity in this regard.
