“One step closer” (2023) – Abstract oil painting by Beata Belanszky Demko

Hungarian artist Beata Belanszky Demko was inspired from a young age by the world of photography, which she discovered through her father's profession. Later, she found a more definitive form of free expression in painting, which she shares with other artists from around the world at gatherings and group exhibitions within the Transylvanian Artists Community. When painting, the artist is initially guided by a feeling of peace, harmony, and stillness. Her gestures are intuitive, and her creation unfolds as her imagination grows. The process is central: the colors are meant to express themselves, the forms to converge, and the emotions of painting are meant to bring the color to life. With oil or acrylic, brush or palette knife, the artist can explore her inner self and become an observer or witness to her artistic creation—a "miracle" of her work, as she calls it. Her compositions are fluid and transparent. She dares to combine geometric elements with supple forms and to blend muted tones with luminous shades. In her work, matter and transparency merge. The dreamlike landscapes and sunsets reflect the complexity of humanity and reveal a greater truth.
