Like no other artists of our time, Paul Wunderlich was one of the really style -forming artists of modernity. In 1960 the Hamburg public prosecutor's office still confiscated his works as "offensive". Three years later, the still young Paul Wunderlich is appointed professor to the University of Fine Art. Numerous awards such as the Edwin Schaff Prize, honors on the graphics Biennals in Ireland, Taiwan and Bulgaria have made Wunderlich famous internationally. He was the only German artist to be included in the Parisian "Académie des Beaux Arts". Paul Wunderlich lived and worked alternately in Hamburg and France until his death in June 2010.
