After the extremely successful premiere last year, the project for aspiring artists named Create: Business on November 18, 2014 on the Square of Ideas in Düsseldorf goes into the second round. It should be larger and more multifaceted than in the previous year.

In addition to an extended lecture forum, the so -called Create: Business Marketplatz , on which subject experts from different areas take time for the individual questions of the founders and the self -employed in a wide variety of creative professions .

Thus, once again, an innovative platform for all creatives from North Rhine-Westphalia will be created within the German Founders' Week, inviting everyone to a lively tête-à-tête in the state capital. The high status of the cultural and creative industries within North Rhine-Westphalia certainly plays a major role in the organization of this project.

It is not considered one of the key industries in NRW without reason. In 2012, every fourth euro of the German industry turnover of 36 billion euros came from North Rhine-Westphalia.

NRW is therefore a home for around 50,000 companies in the cultural and creative industries with more than 300,000 employees. The invoice is to be actively helped with the start-up day creative entrepreneurs to start and grow.

It should be particularly interesting for many creative people in Düsseldorf will inform both in the lecture forum and the Create: Business Marktplatz about the recently launched NRW.Kreativ credit

"With Create: Business we want to help these small, innovative companies to use their market potential better," emphasizes Immo Schiller, the second project manager of Create: Business, "The mediation of entrepreneurial know-how is elementary. But it is also important to create offers that support small companies in competition."

According to the organizers, the NRW.Kreativ loan is a step in the right direction, since so far many good ideas have failed to procure capital.

The following existential issues are in the focus from the creative perspective:

  • How do I get capital to realize my ideas?
  • Who gives me money for a prototype?
  • What needs to be considered in the artist social fund?
  • How do I create the balancing act between family and work?
  • How do I calculate my fees correctly?
  • How do I present my ideas confidently and rousing?

Thanks to the partner's commitment, Create: Business be offered free of charge for all participants. Fortunately, free childcare is also taken care of.

Living from art

A fundamental need for every artistically creative person is likely to be the ability to live off their art.

In order to secure your own existence, it is essential to make money with art . In fact, contrary to the majority perception, many artists can live well from their creative work these days. Nevertheless, a vast majority of all freelance artists are dependent on further sources of income (e.g. giving courses, order work, part -time jobs, etc.).

Recognition as an artist often does not bring immediate financial security. Therefore, artists are often also life artists.

The opportunities to make a living from one's own art have, however, grown significantly due to the internet and social media. As an artist, however, you must be versatile and flexible to succeed. A certain degree of perseverance is also essential.

Customer care and self -marketing are also important pillars for success as an artist .

In this section, we compile numerous articles, information, tips, and advice to help you make a living from your art.
