For 50 years now, he has dedicated himself contemporary art . His deep connection to abstract art, which led to early encounters with artists of the international avant-garde (including Blinky Palermo , Gerhard Richter , Lawrence Weiner, and others), has made him a pioneer in this field.
This allowed the Aichach resident to experience the rise of this art movement firsthand.
Early in his career, Andreas Stucken became involved with the renowned Cabinet for Contemporary Art in Bremerhaven. These initial encounters with contemporary art were formative for his subsequent development as a gallery owner and exhibition organizer.
Here he was able to deepen his understanding of the meaning of abstract art and simultaneously become acquainted with the diverse facets of this art movement. Over the years, Andreas Stucken has discovered, promoted, and supported numerous important artists. Through his close collaboration with them, he has succeeded in making groundbreaking works of contemporary art accessible to a broad public.
As a gallery owner, Andreas Stucken sees his work as mediating between the artists and the interested public.
He aims to inspire reflection on modern art historical developments and engagement with the ideas and concepts of artists. His non-commercial initiatives, institutions, and projects ( Museum for (Sub)culture in Berlin , until 1983; chairmanship of the Aichach Art Association from 2001 to 2011) have therefore been not only purely aesthetic experiences but also thought-provoking for a broad audience.
Since 2004, as an independent art and financial consultant (Stucken Art & Finance), he has supported companies, institutions, and municipalities in various art projects in collaboration with artists. He also offers consulting services for art collectors and corporate collections.

Also noteworthy was the opening of the exhibition “Viktor” in 2013, marking the fifth anniversary of the Berlin branch. This event impressively demonstrated that the creative spirit of the producer gallery resonated with its audience.
Visitors were able to immerse themselves in the multifaceted world of contemporary art and admire impressive works.

Since 2021: virtual exhibition tours in 3D
As part of the NEUSTART KULTUR the Kunstfonds Foundation launched a special funding program for contemporary visual arts galleries. The Berlin branch received funding for its project “Domestic Space” .
In three consecutive exhibitions, exemplary works by 9 artists from the portfolio of the online gallery in the fields of photography, painting and sculpture were presented Berlin branch “augsburg contemporary”
What was new was that these exhibitions could also explored online in 3D .

Project space “augsburg contemporary” and network project “Art X Augsburg”
augsburg contemporary was founded on May 1, 2019, as a collaboration between the Claudia Weil Gallery and Zweigstelle Berlin . As of January 1, 2024, Andreas Stucken – owner of the online portal Zweigstelle Berlin – is augsburg contemporary at Bergstr. 11, 86199 Augsburg-Göggingen.
Past projects include the exhibition series “ Domestic Space ” and the network project “ Art X Augsburg ”, in which the host gallery Zweigstelle Berlin and cultural institutions / galleries from Augsburg each presented new positions in pairs in the project space.
The cooperation partners were fotodiskurs , Kunstraum am Pfarrhof Leitershofen , Kunstverein Augsburg , Ecke Galerie , maxgalerie , SAMMLUNG FINSTRAL and the BBK Augsburg .
With his dedicated commitment, Andreas Stucken has helped to establish “Art X Augsburg” as a firmly established network project that will continue in the coming years. It offers both regionally based and nationally active artists a platform to present their work, as well as a space for dialogue between artists and visitors.
Andreas Stucken's program at augsburg contemporary will focus in the future on both solo and collaborative projects with contemporary artists, as well as continuing the network with other institutions and galleries within the framework of "Art X Augsburg." augsburg contemporary sees itself exclusively as a project space and not as a gallery, thus allowing artists to realize concepts here that would not be possible in other contexts.
To mark his 50th career, Andreas Stucken, a resident of Aichach by choice, once again hosted an anniversary exhibition last year – this time at the project space augsburg contemporary. With selected works from his art collection, he offered (as he had done in Berlin in 2012) new, personal insights into his life as a gallery owner and art collector with the exhibition “ Bremerhaven-Berlin-Aichach-Augsburg ”.
