From November 10th to 13th, 2025, an exhibition of works by Leon Löwentraut presented in the European Parliament in Brussels.
The focus is on the series of paintings “Global Goals” , in which the young German artist artistically interprets the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations in his distinctive, color-intensive way.
The cycle has already been shown in renowned museums such as the Pushkin Museum in St. Petersburg , the Osthaus Museum Hagen , and the Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence .
The sustainability goals include, among other things, ending extreme poverty, providing quality education for all, and combating climate change.
The exhibition is complemented by a work created specifically for the European Parliament – a view of the Parliament building – as well as by a charcoal drawing by the artist.
The European Parliament provides the ideal setting for this: a place of political decision-making, which, with this exhibition, sets an example for sustainability, responsibility and social engagement through art.
The official opening will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 6 p.m. on the third floor of the Parliament building , directly opposite the Tractor Bar , in the presence of numerous high-ranking guests.
The German Members of the European Parliament Sabine Verheyen , Vice-President of the European Parliament, and Dr. Stefan Berger, Chairman of the CDU-NRW Members of the EPP Group in Brussels, will be the patrons. Together with Leon Löwentraut, they will welcome the guests and introduce the exhibition . A greeting from Glenn Micallef, the European Commissioner for Culture, has also been requested.
