Affordable art for Hamburg: Affordable Art Fair opens today at the Hamburg Messe
From November 13th to 16th, Northern Germany's largest art fair invites you once again to discover international art diversity and local talents in a relaxed atmosphere.
A breath of fresh air in a tried-and-tested concept: Under the motto "Art for all," 85 galleries from 15 countries present their portfolios, almost a quarter of which are new to the program. The curated special exhibition "Emerging Artists" features Hamburg-based artists Anne Meerpohl and Penny Monogiou as well as Paula Hoffmann from Berlin.

This year's fair highlights include the sculpture group "Rolling Stone" by Spanish artist Samuel Salcedo , the Late View on Thursday from 6–10 pm, and the Collectors Talk "How to Start Collecting Art" on Saturday at 3 pm. From Friday to Sunday, the Affordable Art Fair welcomes families with a specially discounted ticket and a new interactive children's painting wall.

Four days of contemporary art at the Hamburg trade fair
Starting today, the Affordable Art Fair Hall A3 of the Hamburg Messe into a hub for contemporary art for four days. From November 13th to 16th, Northern Germany's most successful art fair once again opens its doors to art enthusiasts of all kinds. Offering a diverse selection of works in the fields of painting, sculpture, printmaking, and photography, with prices ranging from €100 to €10,000, it attracts more than 20,000 visitors annually.
For its thirteenth edition in the Hanseatic city, this year's Affordable Art Fair has added 20 new exhibitors to its portfolio and is setting new trends in its program with a stronger focus on family-friendliness.

International diversity meets local roots
The fair showcases a wide range of renowned artists and captivating newcomers from 85 galleries across 15 countries. The Affordable Art Fair presents big names like Georg Baselitz , David Shrigley, and Patty Carroll alongside emerging young talents such as Jakob Scheidt, Susanne Bonowicz, and Lil Blanc. This year's international highlights in the gallery portfolio include Coletivo Amarelo from Portugal, Eye Contemporary Art from Hong Kong, and the Japanese Systema Gallery.
An international focus is formed by 13 galleries from the Netherlands, such as Chiefs & Spirits , Gallery40NL , and Artitled Contemporary . Twelve galleries from Hamburg are represented in the exhibition space, including Affenfaust Galerie , Galerie Holthoff , and Galerie von Wegen .

An art experience for explorers
“The diversity of our program goes hand in hand with the democratic approach of the Affordable Art Fairs ,” explains trade fair director Oliver Lähndorf.
We are not interested in elitism and gatekeeping. With transparent prices and a relaxed atmosphere, we deliberately reduce any anxieties surrounding art purchases, while the wide range of positions ensures that there is something for everyone to discover – whether seasoned collectors or art novices. This way, everyone can not only find that one piece that they can't get out of their head, but also take it home with them right away

Highlight: Special exhibition “Emerging Artists” featuring two women from Hamburg
The Affordable Art Fair's inclusive approach also includes supporting young talent. With its curated special exhibition "Emerging Artists," the fair offers emerging artists a unique platform. This year, curator and fair manager Hannah Weber-Heidenfels focusing on three artists: Anne Meerpohl and Penny Monogiou from Hamburg, and Paula Hoffmann from Berlin.
The various thematic focuses of her works interact within the 50 square meter exhibition space, creating an artistic field of tension that explores the fundamental questions of experiencing materiality, physicality, and identity.
Getting started with art collecting made easy with a diverse supporting program
To help visitors get started with art collecting, the diverse supporting program offers assistance and expert knowledge. In addition to the daily free guided tours at 3 p.m., two special tours will be offered on Friday: At 4 p.m., trade fair manager Hannah Weber-Heidenfels will present the "Emerging Artists" exhibition in more detail, while at 5 p.m., trade fair director Oliver Lähndorf will introduce the topic of "Art under €1000".
Together with gallery owner Steve Uhlig ( Uhlig Gallery ) and Dr. Anna Schwan, also give practical tips for getting started in art collecting as well as insights into current developments in the art market Collectors Talk on Saturday at 3 pm
Another highlight is the popular Late View on Thursday evenings from 6 pm to 10 pm in a creative atmosphere with music and drinks.
