Sepp Mastaller (1915-2004) was significantly influenced by the German Expressionists, particularly Ernst Barlach. His works are characterized by a harmonious blend of abstraction and spiritual expression, reflecting a longing for the primal – a central theme of his artistic vision. Without much fanfare, Mastaller reached a wide audience: over 50 fountains, numerous architectural sculptures in public spaces, and impressive portraits attest to his artistic output. His influence was recognized in 1968 with the City of Augsburg's Art Prize.
