Born in Lübeck in 1965, the artist was profoundly influenced by his encounter with the painter Jürgen Runge (1929-92). As a plein air painter, he creates most of his works on location, working exclusively with a palette knife. This painting technique allows for both impulsive work and the meticulous rendering of details.
