Bronze sculpture “Piggyback” (2017) by Dagmar Vogt

Dagmar Vogt, born in 1960 near Cologne, characterizes her work by the fusion of abstraction and figuration, focusing on the decay of nature. In her large-format, relief-like paintings, she captures dreamlike, blurred impressions of nature, with series such as "Blooming and Withering" depicting the life cycle in nuanced color gradations. As a painter and sculptor, she explores the boundary between anatomical and free sculptural representation. Trained by Markus Lüpertz and Mathias Lanfer (a master student of Tony Cragg), Vogt lives and works in Herdecke, Wuppertal, and the Allgäu region. Her works are represented in galleries in Germany and New York. In 2018, she won first prize in the sculpture category at the Kitz Award in Kitzbühel.
