Landscape painting “A garden on the lagoon” (2021) by Tetiana Bond

For Ukrainian artist Tetiana Bond, painting is a form of meditation. A way to spend time with herself and her own thoughts. When Tetiana places a new, pristine, white canvas on her easel, there's a moment when she feels that everything is within her power and practically anything is possible. The first brushstrokes help the Kyiv-based painter to use her eyes and feelings instead of her intellect. The connection between soul and light, or form, or composition and color, is more important than the actual subjects of her work. This moment is incredibly powerful for her. It demands more expression and emotion than rationalism and planning. The moment is her inspiration.
