The spiral is one of the significant themes that we repeatedly encounter in Hundertwasser's work. For Hundertwasser, the spiral is the symbol of life, which develops from a tiny cell, grows slowly and organically, and ultimately fades into infinity.

Organically, like growth rings, one turn of the great path wraps around the other, in a harmony of colors such as only nature itself can produce: colors and shapes as music for the eye.
