Maria-Luise Bodirsky created a sculpture consisting of two figures that invite play, change, and experimentation. Leading and being led, closeness and distance determine the success of their shared steps and (life) paths.
Bronze sculpture. This limited edition of 199 pieces is signed and individually numbered.
Hand-cast using the lost-wax process.
Format 10 x 23 x 15 cm (W/H/D).

The fundamental elements of earth, water, fire, and air are what sculptor and ceramicist Maria-Luise Bodirsky, born in 1952, connects in her sculptures and working process. Clay is her primary means of expression as she captures, explores, and depicts the inner and outer circumstances of her figures. Bodirsky draws inspiration for her archaic-looking figures from early human history, Egyptian civilization, Greek mythology, and the Old Testament, as well as from modern literature such as that of Pablo Neruda.
