"The spiral lies precisely where inanimate matter transforms into life. ... I am convinced, for example, that the act of creation took place in spiral form. ... Our Earth describes the course of the spiral, which means that we go in a circle, but we never return to the point, the circle does not close, we only come close to the point where we have been. This is typical of a spiral, that it is an apparent circle that does not close. ... The spiral as I envision it is a vegetative spiral that has bulges where the lines become thicker and thinner, much like a cross-section of a tree, with one difference: it is not circles that lie within each other, but rather a spiral."
