The American artist Keith Haring is considered an important Pop artist of the 1980s. In addition to his often politically charged artworks, it was important to him to convey the meaning of love and kindness.
He deliberately kept the embracing figures gender-neutral. Haring wanted to express that love knows no boundaries.
