His famous black square of 1915 is considered the milestone of modern art: Kasimir Sewerinovich Malewitsch, the main representative of the Russian avant -garde, shaped early modernity through his dealing with impressionism, cubism, constructivism and futurism. With suprematism, he developed a style in which art stands for itself in its pure form. In his late work, Malewitsch turned back to figurative painting without submitting the political guidelines of socialist realism; It was only after the Soviet Union's disintegration received broader recognition.
