Female act "On Pointes" by Jakob Wainshtein, hand -made wooden sculpture

The sculptor Jakob Wainshtein was born in Stalingrad in 1944 and graduated in Vilnius in 1961 before completing a master's degree in spacecraft and rocket technology with distinction at the Moscow Aviation University. During his 40-year career as an engineer, he has numerous patents and inventions. In addition to his technical career, a passion for wood carving developed, which began in school and often served as a tool for modeling. The interest in the beauty of people and nature strongly influenced his art. This passion also extends to hobbies such as artistic photography, underwater archeology and gliding. Today, the multi -talent is entirely devoted to sculpture and strives to represent the organic sensuality of female forms in the natural material wood.
