Masterpiece of the Art Nouveau era "Judith I" (1901), framed

The Old Testament tells the story of the beautiful and God-fearing widow Judith, who enters the camp of the Nebuchadnezzar general Holofernes unarmed and beheads him with his own sword – a popular motif in art history. Klimt's famous "Golden Judith" is a modern-day femme fatale whose charms could cost many a man his head.

Original: Oil on canvas, Austrian Gallery Belvedere, Vienna.

High-quality reproduction using the fine art giclée process, hand-painted on canvas and stretched on a stretcher frame.

Limited edition of 499 copies. Handcrafted gallery frame. Size 73 x 37 cm (H/W).

Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) was a formative artist of the Vienna Art Nouveau and co-founder of the Vienna Secession. His "golden style", inspired by Byzantine mosaics, is characterized by ornamental colored areas that act like gemstones in a golden reason. In his works, especially the famous "kiss", Klimt reflects the life path of man and its redemption, whereby he combines subtle erotic body depictions with geometric patterns. This flat style characterizes Klimt's intensive colored art from 1905 and also extends on portraits of wealthy women and landscape pictures.
