Bronze sculpture “Torso Giulia” (2017) by KAY

The Kay Winkler, born in 1956, who calls himself only Kay, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and Stuttgart, operated sculpture studies at Ibscher and was an assistant in Prof. HC Berann. At the age of 18, he debuted with an exhibition in the Haus der Kunst in Munich. Winkler's central topic is the naked female body, which he can reproduce in all conceivable positions after extensive anatomy studies in all conceivable positions. As an introverted, sensitive artist, which is contrary to the superficial self -expression and effective scandals, Kay adheres to the exciting relationships between the organic forms and pays homage to the gender -struggling female body without falling into superficial piquant. Due to the intensity of his work, Kay has developed a subtle formal and sign language on how to rarely meet it in the art scene. His works can be found in private collections, numerous exhibitions and in the European sculpture gallery. The artist died in 2023.
