Marg Moll was a student of the Great Henri Matisse and one of the first, if not the first German sculptor of rank. In the Third Reich as "degenerate", some of their early work survived Nazi era and war only by chance. This plastic is one of the few preserved work from the time before World War II. Her bronze proves the powerful and at the same time sensual, concentrated design of the artist.
