Sculpture “Europa” (1992), version in artificial marble
Delicate eroticism of classical modernism: Hohberger's sculpture Europe, which he created in 1992, is of an open and disarming sensuality. Europe, symbol of the female, not the transient beauty of youth, but the eternal incentive for the man to raise performance. It is the moment before the kidnapping: self -forgetting and completely relaxed delighted this woman's act of Peter Hohberger everyone who sees him. We guess what Zeus moved when he kidnapped Europe in the form of a bull.

The sculptor Peter Hohberger, born in Silesia on November 12, 1939, already dealt with drawing and modeling as a child. After a successful career as an actor, he has been devoting himself to painting and visual art for many years. He consciously sees himself as a sculptor in the classic sense. His aesthetic basic understanding is shaped by nature; It is the beauty of the human body itself, which fascinates him and which it unaffected by modernism in his files and portrait busts. He does not deny his role models: they are the masters of ancient Greece, Auguste Rodin and especially Arno Breker, who personally instructed him. He learned from everyone, and not only in the accuracy with which he knows how to present the beauty of the female body. Hohberger says: "Art that enriches life and delights people survives any kind of so -called zeitgeist".
