Pair of sculptures “Ibexes” on stone, metal/art casting
Even lofty heights don't stop them from clashing horns. Their ambition to prove to the other that they are stronger and more important makes them forget all caution.
The sculptor and designer Birgit Stauch was a private student of various renowned sculptors, including Arno Breker and Rudolf Alexander Agricola. Her ibexes are made of cast metal with a bronzed finish, mounted on a polymer stone base.
Birgit Stauch's fascination with form and design was instilled in her from birth: As the daughter of a master sculptor and stonemason, she grew up surrounded by sculptures. Initially trained as a form designer, she also turned to sculpture and took lessons from renowned artists such as Arno Breker and Richard Alexander Agricola. Stauch worked for many years as a sculptor and designer in an art foundry and also worked freelance. In 1996, she successfully established her own business.
