Michael Pickl creates sculptures from completely contemporary men and women how they could meet us on the street every day and portrays them in moments of relaxation and happiness. No wood is too crooked to the artist, so as not to make a person, a very modern even.

The Königsberg philosopher Immanuel Kant observed that people were carved out of crooked wood. The sculptor Michael Pickl (born 1971) from Kastl contradicts this: No wood is too crooked for him to create modern human forms. With various tools, he creates sculptures of contemporary men and women in moments of relaxation and happiness. Its filigree, colorfully painted wooden figures clearly show the traces of its processing and have already been presented at numerous exhibitions, including several times in the new art salon in the Haus der Kunst in Munich.
