The "homage to Christo and Jeanne-Claude" is a series by the artist Jan Köthe and symbolizes the veiled Reichstag with his wrinkles and constrictions and at the same time shows the close relationship of the artist couple.
Original sculpture made of stainless steel, 2015. Hand signed, dated, titled. Format 89 x 33 x 13 cm (h/b/t). Weight 13.2 kg.
In his sculptures, Jan Köthe (*1965) combines the massive hardness of stainless steel with organic shapes, which creates dynamic aesthetics. He obtained recognition through numerous exhibitions and art prices, including his participation in Documenta 11 in 2002. In the years 2020, 2022 and 2024, he was nominated for the Brandenburg Art Award. Köthe studied sculpture at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Dortmund under Prof. Horst Linn and currently lives in Berlin.
