Elegance in metal: In Oliver Franneck's sculpture "Papillon", many small butterflies merge into a graceful female gate. For his works, the Munich sculptor first draws the contours freely hand, cuts them out with a metal laser and combines the individual parts to the sculpture.
The transparency of the object allows a fascinating game of light and shadow. With the fragmented representation of the body, Franneck wants to create space for the individual fantasies of the viewers.

Oliver Franneck, born in 1967, is a German sculptor who represents the female body in his nude sculptures in an elegant and transparent way. His works consist of many small objects, such as stars or butterflies that shape the surface structure and create a fascinating game of light and shadow. The artistic process begins with hand-drawn silhouettes, followed by precise laser outlets of the metal contours. In an intuitive finale, Franneck combines the individual parts into unique sculptures. His training as a metal builder and studying media design in Munich flow into its artistic creations and lead to innovative work in perfect manual execution.
