About Jacques Vanroose: The Belgian artist Jacques Vanroose (born 1943) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges and later dedicated himself to creating sculptures in bronze and ceramic. The human figure is central to the artist's expressive sculptures. His figures are often powerful and dynamic, but also sometimes contemplative and sensual – and movement always plays a crucial role. The rough and uneven surface of the bronze makes the poses of the bodies particularly expressive and impactful.
