Andy Warhol's kitten "Sam" comes from a folder with hand-colored lithographs, which Warhol put together in the 1950s: "25 Cats Named Sam and One Blue Pussy".
Warhol and his mother, who lived together for a long time, are said to have a lot of cats and were almost all "Sam" christened them. The folder published Warhol in 1954 as a small artist book in self -published.
