About Leo Wirth "It depends on the details" is the motto of the sculptor Leo Wirth, and every of his works is obvious how seriously he means by that. Leo Wirth works figuratively. He does it with great dedication to the details, so that his works - be it personal portraits, fountain plastics or religious and mythological motifs such as the Holy Francis or the Roman fertility goddess Ceres - counter to the viewer. The same applies to his representation of people of everyday life, for whom he is particularly interested in; People who could meet each of us on the street. In his sculptures, he deals with human strengths and weaknesses as well as the challenges of life. It is easy to recognize in the small, often humorous scenes from everyday life. In their skilful execution, the sometimes realistic, sometimes expressive sculptures invite you to look at and to think. Leo Wirth, born in 1956, completed the vocational school for wood and stone sculpture in Elbigenalp/Tyrol in 1989 and then ventured the step into self-employment as a freelance sculptor. Success agreed to him. Today you can find his large sculptures in public places from Dorum on the North Sea ("Deichwerk") to Isny in the Allgäu ("Neidhammelbrunnen").
