David Padworny was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania, and studied and graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art. David currently lives and works as a professional artist, with his primary studio located in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York. David primarily uses thick impasto oil paint and most often creates depictions of the figure. His work is instantly recognizable, his style unique. He draws on current events to inform tone and subject matter, and so his work evolves not just from panel to panel, but as a static object. The paint, often rising inches from the canvas, invites the viewer to approach from the sides, bend their knees, and look up, and so David's works can be cognitively interpreted. David's paintings span scale and shift unbridled moods, their impact transcending their immediate impressions.
