David Padworny was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania, and studied and graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art. David currently lives and works as a professional artist, with his main studio in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City. David primarily uses thick, impasto oil paint and mostly creates figurative works. His work is instantly recognizable, his style unique. He draws on current events to inform tone and subject matter, and thus his work evolves not only from painting to painting but also as a static object. The paint, often rising centimeters from the canvas, invites the viewer to approach from the sides, bend their knees, and look up, allowing David's works to be interpreted cognitively. David's paintings transcend scale and shift unrestrained moods; their impact extends beyond their immediate impressions.
