Wood sculpture "Dream team" on friendship, from the artist duo Doppeldenk

For more than ten years, Leipzig-based artists Marcel Baer and Andreas Glauch have been working together under the moniker "Doppeldenk." For their paintings, sculptures, prints, and light objects, they often extract widely known symbols, pictograms, and figures from their respective contexts and present them in new and unusual forms. Using a stylized, comic-like style of representation in contrasting colors, Doppeldenk emphasizes the relevant attributes of their subjects, creating subtle critical and occasionally humorous commentaries on mass cultural phenomena.
