Helge Leiberg, born in Dresden in 1954, studied at the local university for visual arts. The music runs like a thread through the work of the multimedia artist, who, among other things, realized numerous music projects with Ar Penck.
Helge Leiberg's picture and sculpture world consists of signal figures, slim, with long limbs and expansive gestures. Her dancing gestures reveal pure life: sometimes self -forgotten, sometimes interacting you express and dislike, struggle and union. His masterful lines and the virtuoso representation of the movement characterize his work. Leiberg draws inspiration from the mutual influence of painting, dance and music. With Ar Penck he played in a band and realized performance with Christa Wolf at the Salzburg Festival.
Helge Leiberg was awarded the Brandenburg Art Award for Painting in 2013. His works are located both in the Prussian cultural property foundation and in the Würth Collection and in many other public and private collections.
