Bronze sculpture "Love" (2021) by Yves Rasch, limited edition

Yves Rasch, born in Hamburg in 1979, has worked as a freelance sculptor in wood and bronze since 2002 and was a student of Erich Gerer from 2004 to 2009. Since 2005, he has regularly participated in national and international symposia and exhibitions. His works are expressive sculptures that present themselves as a shell of inner tension. They possess a tangible and physical presence without being figurative; they are forms that seem self-sufficient and thus rest in space. In his forms, Rasch equally combines the principles of dynamism, calm, and harmony, thus creating sculptures that demonstrate movement in the still. From different perspectives, he thus creates a form that continually finds new expression. His wooden originals – formed from whole blocks over countless hours – appear free, light, and delicate despite their mass. His bronzes are casts of these unique wooden sculptures.
