Bronze sculpture “Love” (2021) by Yves Rasch, Limited Edition

Yves Rasch, born in Hamburg in 1979, has worked as a freelance sculptor in wood and bronze since 2002 and studied under Erich Gerer from 2004 to 2009. Since 2005, he has regularly participated in national and international symposia and exhibitions. His works are expressive sculptures that represent an inner tension. They possess a palpable and physical presence without being figurative; they are forms that seem self-sufficient and thus rest in space. In his forms, Rasch combines the principles of dynamism, stillness, and harmony equally, creating sculptures that demonstrate movement within stillness. From different perspectives, he creates a form that continually finds new expression. His original wooden sculptures—shaped from solid blocks over countless hours—appear free, light, and delicate despite their mass. His bronzes are casts of these unique wooden sculptures.
