Gisella Stapleton was born in Lima, Peru, and uses various media and artistic materials to express the wealth of folklore, symbolism and art of the Andes.

In a method that combines tradition with modernity, it brings us color -intensive folk art from Latin America into the world. Elements of folk art, fauvism and sacred art mix with realism and abstraction to create the unique style.

The Peruvian painter shows South American icons, natural scenes, indigenous folklore and ordinary women in her works. After moving from her homeland Peru to Spain, Gisella began to exhibit her work at the University of Valladolid, followed by a series of exhibitions in different cultural centers.

Shortly after moving to London, Gisella began to exhibit her work in numerous galleries, from Battersea Arts Center in London to the Ronda Barcelona Cultural Center in Barcelona to the Herstory Performance Show in San Diego, approx.

The growing awareness of sub -subject peoples, including women and indigenous groups, is a central topic in Gisella's works of art that are aware of the importance of art as a tool for social change.

Gisella Stapleton was recently selected as one of 30 Latin American artists for the exhibition of Via Arts Prize in Great Britain. She now lives and creates from her studio in London.
