Sculpture "Fauno Danzante from Pompeii" (reduction), metal casting
The dancing faun, or satyr, is the most famous find from Pompeii. This expressive sculpture stood at the center of the Casa del Fauno, arguably the most magnificent residence in the city, and adorned the atrium of the palace of Publius Sulla, the nephew of the great general and dictator Sulla.
