Friedensreich Hundertwasser: “Green Town”, reproduction
Reproduction | Foil embossing | Solid wood frame | Passe-partout | Glazed | Size 59 x 59 cm
It is not least his handling of color that makes Hundertwasser's work so unique. He uses it instinctively (according to the renowned art historian Wieland Schmied) and, precisely through this, achieves maximum effect with almost sleepwalking certainty.
The deep black lacquered solid wood frame and the black passe-partout with its white beveled edge make Hundertwasser's colors shine even more brightly. High-quality reproduction in 7 to 9 colors, enhanced with a highly refractive metallic foil using an embossing process and partially coated with UV varnish.
Format 59 x 59 cm.

Hundertwasser is one of the most internationally renowned artists of our time. His global reputation was already firmly established in the 1960s. A dynamic and inspiring career followed. His aura and influence were the fruits of his painting and his multifaceted work: demonstrations, speeches and happenings, actions, contributions to ecology, advocacy for a life in harmony with nature, manifestos for nature, for more humane architecture, and for improving people's lives. He championed tree tenants, rooftop afforestation, urban greening, composting toilets, and the restoration of social values and natural cycles. He was a vocal advocate against environmental pollution, the dangers of nuclear energy, the defacement of nature and the destruction of our natural heritage, and for a zero-waste society.
