Paul Wunderlich's “Venus Collier” consists of a slightly arched oval, which, on the inside, in the matted concave, harbors a shimmering noble breeding pearl. On the outside, the shell -shaped necklace is polished, so that there is an attractive contrast between the two surfaces inside and outside. The collier is made of solid sterling silver. On the back it is provided with the signature of the artist, numbering and with the silver stamp.

Venus is the goddess of love and beauty. It is also called the foamborn because after her birth on the island of Kypris it is said to have arisen the foam crowns. Painter of the Renaissance combined the birth of the goddess of love with the shell, such as Sandro Botticelli in his famous picture "The birth of Venus". No question, Paul Wunderlich was inspired by Botticelli's representation. But what did he make of it! With the imagination of an artist and the precision of a mathematician, he developed an ideal form that does not deny its origin from the figurative and yet transcends reality.
