The pounding of the hooves is almost physically noticeable, dust whirls up, hot breath seems to be waving the viewer: "I want to represent the essence of the animal more than the animal itself," says Dieter Finke. The sculptor masterfully reduces the cultural original symbol, the bull, to its elementary structures.

Sculpture in fine bronze, limited world run only 199 copies.

Cast in wax outlawing processes, finely polished, patinated, with a signature and foundry punch.

Format 68 x 29 cm.

Born in Berlin in 1939, Dieter Finke found artistic expressiveness in early years. From 1959 to 1965 he studied sculpture with Paul Dierkes and Renee Sintenis at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin. Since then, he has constantly expanded and changed his creative handling of material and color, shape and space. Its wood and bronze sculptures are reduced to the essentials. Especially in its filigree animal sculptures, the shape is rather indicated than filled out, there is a broad scope for the viewer's imagination. Finke lived and worked alternately in Berlin and New York. His enormous creativity did not stop at painting, drawings, image objects and photo collages, so that an extensive oeuvre was created, which is exhibited in famous galleries in Berlin, Hanover, Hamburg and New York. Dieter Finke died in 2011.
