Sculpture group "The Family" by Paul Wunderlich

The three slim, even bronze figures are arranged for a harmonious triad, which nevertheless does not cover the properties of each individual sculpture. All three figures of the ensemble resemble each other, but they can be distinguished in character.

An ensemble of three bronzes, patinated in different colors, partly polished. Cast in the wax melting process. Edition 99 copies, numbered and signed.

Wunderlich has created a subtle form: a lively tailored upper body flows into a flattering ball element and continues in a long -fitting dress. The big figure is patinated and has a finely structured surface. The middle figure has a red -brown patina and is divided by regular lines. The youngest family member wears a smooth robe in a gold -colored shine. Like no other artists of our time, Paul Wunderlich was one of the really style -forming artists of modernity. In 1960 the Hamburg public prosecutor's office still confiscated his works as "offensive". Three years later, the still young Paul Wunderlich is appointed professor to the University of Fine Art.
