The dream of freedom and power: In her paintings, Kerstin Tschech is about more than the detailed or photographic depiction of horses. She wants to make the fascination of horses tangible. The galloping approach of these noble creatures, their rhythmic breathing, and the powerful wave emanating from their heated bodies. The smell of horses – this is how closely Tschech is able to capture the essence of the horses on her canvases. After studying design, painting, and photography, Kerstin Tschech finally decided to paint. The result is an independent, expressionistic style with energetic brushstrokes on sculpturally designed surfaces. Tschech's specialization in horses has also brought her paintings recognition from celebrities for whom she has painted, such as Athina Onassis, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, and Martina Hingis.
