Günter Grass, born in Ganzig in 1927, is considered an important representative of German literature. In addition, he also made a name for himself as a sculptor, painter and graphic artist. Not without his own canonia, he said of himself: "As a visual artist, I am a more learned, as a writer of unskilled artists." The trained painter painted as he was: lyrically poetic, idiosyncratic justice. In Grass' pictures, all three basic types of poetry are formed in one: drama, epic and poetry. Günter Grass is the sponsor of many awards, including the renowned Nobel Literature Prize. His diverse oeuvre was already seen at numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. "I appreciate the draftsman, the graphic artist, the sculptor Günter Grass. I really like what he has been producing for half a century." (Marcel Reich-Ranicki)
