What exactly is it about?

“Everything for Art” offers practical guidance and valuable advice for artists who want to solidify their success in the global art scene . Until now, there has unfortunately been no book that clearly and helpfully showed artists the way to establish themselves in the art world in the long term.

Tizian Baldinger had long harbored the idea for this book, but lacked the necessary writing experience. Therefore, he sought a co-author and eventually found the Berlin art historian Timon R. Böse to be a perfect fit.

The two authors have amassed extensive experience in the art world over the past few decades. But that wasn't enough for them; they also wanted to capture the spirit of the elite and speak with someone who has already achieved everything one can possibly achieve.

They were fortunate enough to be able to sit down with an international superstar artist and ask for their advice. The essence of these conversations, along with valuable contributions from fellow artists, gallery owners, collectors, and curators, has been incorporated into this book.

This is not a typical guide that attempts to motivate and make a large number of people happy. Nor is it a conventional textbook that simply reiterates already known knowledge.

Instead, it is a groundbreaking work from the perspective of an active artist. The aim is to provide the reader with an understandable, structured, and objective overview of the current art system.

It strives to be helpful and practical without ignoring the fact that the success of many artists does not fail due to a lack of talent, but rather due to their lack of knowledge of the rules of the current art system and their compatibility.

About the authors

Tizian Baldinger

Tizian Baldinger is not only a Swiss artist, but also a thinker and entrepreneur. He has traveled half the globe and gained extensive experience in the art world.

But he wasn't just an observer; he always tried to form his own opinion of the world. His extended stays in Los Angeles and Berlin, as well as his completed art studies at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg and Hangzhou (China), helped him do so.

Through his wide-ranging interests and his first-class education in computer science, economics, and marketing, Tizian strives to understand the world as a universal and interdisciplinary thinker. Both through his works and his writings, he offers insights into his thought processes and reveals connections that have previously received little attention.

Timon R. Böse

Böse was born in 1980, grew up in Berlin, and began sketching his first stories at an early age. After a brief foray into Indology, he studied history and art history in Berlin and Geneva.

As head of marketing and exhibition curator, he became active in Berlin's art scene immediately after graduating in 2006, starting at one of the city's largest exhibition venues. While during the day he oversaw numerous projects with illustrious personalities and partners, including those from Australia, Zimbabwe, Israel, and North Korea, at night he immersed himself in the world of drunken artists in Berlin's seedy bars.

Böse publishes various books, but his main occupation remains in Berlin's international and highly surreal art scene . He has a deep love-hate relationship with his run-down hometown, and he makes it the setting for many of his books.

Where can I buy the book?

The books are available in the online shop of the Berlin branch or on Amazon.

There are two versions of this book: one in masculine and one in feminine language . However, the content is identical and offers you – whether woman, man, or non-binary – firsthand insights from a world-renowned artist and shows you how to approach your art and career professionally in order to become successful.

Living from art

A fundamental need for every artistically creative person is likely to be the ability to live off their art.

To secure one's own existence, it is essential to earn money with art. In fact, nowadays—contrary to the majority perception—many artists can live well from their creative work. Nevertheless, a significant majority of all freelance artists still rely on additional sources of income (e.g., teaching courses, commissioned work, side jobs, etc.).

Recognition as an artist often does not bring immediate financial security. Therefore, artists are often also life artists.

The opportunities to make a living from one's own art have, however, grown significantly due to the internet and social media. As an artist, however, you must be versatile and flexible to succeed. A certain degree of perseverance is also essential.

Customer relations and self-marketing are also important pillars for success as an artist .

In this section, we compile numerous articles, information, tips, and advice to help you make a living from your art.
