About the artist:

Steve McCurry began his career as a photographer after studying cinematography at Pennsylvania State University. For almost fifty years, he has been an outstanding portrait photographer of international renown.

With a camera and a few belongings, he embarked on a transformative adventure in India. To make the world aware of the horrors of the Russian invasion of Pakistan, he risked his life to film them.

In his fascinating portfolio, McCurry captures the human spirit in a variety of settings, from modern life to long-lost traditions and nations. In recognition of his extraordinary lifetime achievement, he has received numerous awards, including the Royal Photographic Society's Centenary Medal and the Robert Capa Gold Medal . He was honored at the 2019 induction ceremony into the International Photography Hall of Fame.
