This handcrafted tenor slit drum combines the highest quality materials with a thoughtful, sustainable design. Measuring approximately 60 x 30 x 20 cm, it is ideally suited for use in therapeutic applications, early childhood music education, and the art and luxury markets. One pair of mallets is included.

Both the body and the soundboard of the "Journey" are made entirely of ash wood, prized for its exceptional strength and durability. A novel feature of this model is its construction, which incorporates a continuous bridge (running along the drum's longitudinal axis) between the playable tongues. This optimizes the drum's vibration, reducing mutual interference and resulting in a more refined sound.

Design and craftsmanship take place in Germany.

The wood used comes exclusively from regional, sustainable forestry. With the exception of a few structural components inside the slotted drum, all parts are traditionally glued and additionally fastened with wooden pegs. This construction method ensures an authentic aesthetic and maximum durability.

Product safety and surface treatment

Safety and environmental sustainability are paramount for the instrument maker. The surfaces of each slit drum are finely sanded in several steps and finished with high-quality, natural waxes and oils. This finishing process accentuates the individual grain of the wood and ensures a durable, resilient surface. Careful handcrafting results in an instrument that meets the highest standards not only in sound but also in aesthetics.

Only food-safe, beeswax-based sealants are used. This protects the wood from moisture and external influences while maintaining its natural breathability. At the same time, the treatment provides a pleasant feel and a silky finish.

Care instructions

Slit drums are purely natural products and, upon delivery, only require occasional cleaning with a damp cloth. The factory treatment with beeswax penetrates deep into the wood fibers and, with proper use, protects the product for the drum's entire lifespan.

Important note: The slot drum should only be used and stored indoors.
