Euward is being advertised for the ninth time
Artists from across Europe can once again apply for the prestigious prize for painting and graphic arts.

Augustinum Foundation Prize for Painting and Graphic Arts in the Context of Intellectual Disability
euward, the European Prize for Painting and Graphic Arts in the Context of Intellectual Disability, will be open for entries again from January 30, 2023.
Until May 30, 2023, artists with cognitive disabilities can apply for this globally unique art prize awarded by the Munich-based Augustinum Foundation. The prize will be presented at the opening of a major euward exhibition in May 2024 at the Haus der Kunst in Munich.
Information about the application process can be found at www.euward.de .
The Augustinum Foundation has been awarding the euward since 2000. It is the most important international award for art in the context of intellectual disability and will be awarded for the ninth time in 2024. In recent years, up to 800 artists from more than 25 European nations have applied.

The tender process begins on January 30th and ends on May 30th, 2023.

The aim of euward is to promote unknown artists in the spirit of genuine inclusion and to make their work accessible to the public. A jury of internationally renowned experts (sS 2) will select three winners from applications submitted across Europe.
They will have an exhibition at the Haus der Kunst in Munich in May 2024 and will also
receive cash prizes and a catalogue with a total value of around 25,000 euros.
Museums' perception of art by people with intellectual disabilities has only recently begun to develop. Alongside the tradition of "Art Brut" or "Outsider Art," it now forms a new artistic scene. Often, "supported studios" offer these talented individuals the conditions to realize their potential as freelance artists.
Across Europe, renowned exhibition venues and museums offer a forum for this art (see the curatorial team, page 2). The euward aims to highlight the artistic quality in the work of these cultural outsiders. Purely social aspects play no role.
The euward is supported as a partner by international museums and cultural institutions – for example from Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland.
