The annual exhibition "Emerging Artists" on the Affordable Art Fair was launched by trade fair director Oliver Lähndorf in 2012. The visibility created by the emerging artist exhibitions in the past 12 years at the fair in Hamburg played an important role in supporting and promoting artist careers in the difficult initial phases of the art world.
The guiding principle of the art fair still exists today: to take afraid of creating a relaxed atmosphere that makes art buying easy and thus contributing part of the democratization of art - in an art market that is changing rapidly. ”
The first edition of the Emerging Artist exhibition in Berlin is under the motto "tension relationships" and is curated by exhibition manager Hannah Weber-Heidenfels. It presents four different artistic positions by artists with a focus in Berlin. The participating artists this year are Jana Schumacher , Jonas Büßecker , Nina Kuttler and Viktor Petrov .
