Alexandra Brehm née Burgstaller – born in 1974 in Salzburg – lives and works as a full-time, freelance artist in Schwendi, a municipality near Ulm / Memmingen / Biberach ad Riss and Laupheim. The short biography describes her career path from self-taught artist to full-time, successful painter. Alexandra Brehm – then still Burgstaller – showed an affinity for visual arts from early childhood, which led her to present her paintings to the public at a young age. She began painting portraits at craft markets and accepting commissions. In 1998, she switched from colored pencils and charcoal to acrylic painting. Four years later, after participating in several group exhibitions, the artist opened her first solo exhibition in her then-hometown of Krumbach. The response was so overwhelming that she decided to reduce her working hours in her main job to focus more on her art and its marketing. She continuously expanded her knowledge and skills in acrylic painting and online marketing. Within just a few years, she developed her distinctive style, characterized by expressive abstract color compositions and occasional realism. The apparent contrast between her artistic styles and her use of fresh, vibrant colors challenges the viewer and allows for a highly individual interpretation of her work. After 20 years as a chemical laboratory assistant, Alexandra Brehm finally returned to her roots in 2016 and dedicated her work exclusively to art as a full-time professional artist and commissioned painter – she is a member of the artists' social security fund. Numerous projects in and outside of Germany ensure a steadily increasing interest in her work – a provisional highlight of her career is marked by the “American women’s magazine Sasee” – whose cover of the August 2020 issue features a colorful painting of a woman by the artist. Alexandra Brehm ships her paintings throughout Europe – she has over 10 years of experience in professional art shipping, which ensures the paintings arrive undamaged.
