Artist's statement on the work: "When I traveled in Africa and some countries in the Middle East, I admired the beauty and clothing of Arab women. I noticed that the presence of fabric, covering almost their entire body and face, made them even more mysterious and unusual. Eyes. One could talk endlessly about women's eyes. After the trip, I wanted to depict an Arab woman in a fantasy costume, something between a hijab and a niqab. The abundance of gold combined with a light blue fabric gives the woman the qualities of an alien queen."
