Image "Apfelbaum" (1921)-from "Seasons cycle", version of gold colors framed
The Norwegian painter Edvard Munch was a master in transforming his motifs into symbols for moods and feelings. This applies not only to his most famous works such as "the cry" or "Madonna", but also to his landscape paintings. Four of his works represent the seasons. Here it is autumn.
Munch represented the autumn based on an apple tree, the leaves of which have already turned yellow.
